Website shop info

01 May 2020

Thank you to all the customers who have contacted us about setting up regular orders. With supply and demand being so hard to predict and effectively respond to this has been the only way to guarantee we can get veg to those of you who want it, within a reasonable time frame.

The webshop is now open again for bag orders only (not individual items).

If you placed an order by Friday last week it will be delivered this week (Wednesday 13th - Saturday 16th). Orders placed since Saturday 9th and this week until Friday will be delivered next week (Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd)

We will follow up all new orders with a regular order offer as this is still the only way we can be sure to be able to supply you at the moment.

If you understandably don't want to commit to a regular weekly or fortnightly order you are free to order via the website; we just need you to be aware that in the event of any  supply issues we could have to close the shop again for a time.

It is always possible to email us with queries etc - we try to deal with all enquiries as quickly as we can.

THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND SUPPORT THROUGH THIS TIME - WE WISH YOU ALL PEACE AND GOOD HEALTH !

Update 27th April

27 April 2020

Thank you to all the customers who have contacted us about regular orders. With supply and demand being so hard to predict and effectively respond to this has been the only way to ensure we can get veg to those of you who want it, within a reasonable time frame.

The webshop is back open for bag orders only - (not individual items). We will remain open until Friday and plan to open again the following week - this is so we can manage our wholesale supplies effectively.

Re DELIVERY AREAS AND DAYS - we have been greatly helped in getting orders out to people by Richie who some of you may have met already - he is helping out with some of our rounds and this has enabled us to catch up with admin and make a start with (the most improtant thing?) growing!

We are now able to deliver all orders on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and substantially the rounds should be the same every week now - although we are still making a few adjustments.

Meanwhile the garden is looking great, and we are catching up with sowing and planting as fast as we can. Last year  we were successfully minimising buying in transplants and managing to sow and grow most of our own; however this year in order to buy a little time we have some plant orders coming soon from Delfland, in addition to  the many seeds already sown.

General news and updates for April

02 April 2020

First of all, thank you to all our customers for your patience, appreciation and encouragement this week - it has really helped to keep us going!

We hope you are all keeping well and busy, and cooking lots of lovely organic veg!

We are in the process of asking people to sign up for a regular order now in order to plan and as far as possible guarantee your orders. This will mean that you won't have to keep ordering each week, and also there is not the risk of the online shop closing when the order books are full. Everyone should receive an email regarding this shortly and we will get it processed and up and  running as soon as we can.

We have extended our delivery area for the present, (see below) and are delivering on 4 days of the week - Wed- Sat

We are trying to establish a set day for each area, but this is still a little flexible as things settle down regarding supply  and ordering. We will keep you updated.

WE WILL LEAVE ALL DELIVERIES ON YOUR DOORSTEP OR OTHER AGREED PLACE SUCH AS PORCH OR SHED. If possible please order and pay on line by Paypal.

You can also use BACS if you are a regular order and usually pay by cash.

(BACS details are in the Contact Us section of this website).

WE WILL DELIVER TO

  • Darlington and Newton Aycliffe
  • Weardale and Wear Valley
  • Teesdale and Barnard Castle
  • Richmond
  • Alston Moor and Nenthead (Group drop-off only - one each in Alston and Nent fortnightly)
  • Reeth, Leyburn and Wensleydale as far west as Castle Bolton
  • Bedale, Catterick, Brompton, Leeming, Masham
  • Thirsk, Northallerton, Osmotherly
  • Middlesboro, Stockton, Great Ayton, Stokesley, Yarm

WEBSITE SHOP

In order to deliver the increased number of orders at the moment WE ARE ONLY DELIVERING VEG BAGS/BOXES plus eggs and apple juice. There are no individual items available on the website, so please go straight to the VEG AND FRUIT BAGS section where you can also add juice and eggs to your order.

We are sorry to have to make this change as we know that many of you really appreciate the chance to make individual purchases, but there is simply no time at the moment to process these.

We have introduced 2 different Top-Up bags which will relace the old TV (Top-up veg). These are

TS - Top-up stir which will have stir fry items in smaller quanitites, and

TR - Top-up roots - as described, a £5 bag of root veg - at present potatoes, carrots and onions, but this can change with the season to include other roots.

We hope you find this more useful, to avoid unwanted duplications in your order.

Further update 23 March

IMPORTANT UPDATE

FIRST AND FOREMOST WE ARE STILL HERE FOR YOU!

AT THE MOMENT WE ARE ABLE TO OBTAIN, PACK AND DELIVER YOUR ORGANIC FRUIT AND VEG AND HAVE TAKEN ON MANY EXTRA ORDERS TO HELP PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE SELF-ISOLATING, TO GET THEIR VEG AND KEEP FED AND HEALTHY.

The supply chain is still working, thanks to the hard work of organic farmers and wholesalers like Organic Pantry who are literally working round the clock to keep us all fed. However, in order to keep up with extra demand and cope with irregularities in supply WE WILL SUSPEND ONLINE ORDERING FOR INDIVIDUAL ITEMS for the time being and just TAKE ORDERS FOR VEG BAGS/BOXES.

You can order and pay for your veg online as normal, but it will give us the flexibility to provide varied and fresh veg for all, and make the most of what is available.

In order to respond to possible interruptions in supply we are not taking on any new regular orders (although we would love to when things get more normal again!) as we need the flexibility to prioritise our existing customers in the event of a shortage. In the meantime please continue ordering via the website.

We are also INCREASING OUR DELIVERY DAYS so we can deliver any day from Wednesday to Saturday - this is so we can reach everyone and also make the most sustainable delivery plan. If we can we will let you know when you will get your veg, but please bear with us if things are flexible for a while.

We have decided with regret we can't do markets in April - will update as we go.

Stay well and positive. The birds are still singing and spring is springing all around us!

Bluebell Organics is family-run business based in the old walled garden of Forcett Hall on the outskirts of Richmond, North Yorkshire. We grow and sell a wide range of organic produce.

We deliver weekly in the surrounding area (see delivery areas)

We offer a range of seasonal veg and fruit bags, and you can also make up your order from our online shop. (see ordering from bluebell organics)

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK....

'Thanks as ever for all the delicious, wonky, muddy, fresh, varied and plastic-free veg!'

'Thanks so much for keeping these bags so interesting!'

'Enjoyed delicious supper of artichokes, thank you very much!'

'Thank you so much for all your hard work in 2019 and for providing us with fresh, delicious, local, organic produce.  It doesn't get much better than that!'

Signs of spring

14 February 2020

The woods at Bluebell are once more carpeted with beautiful snowdrops, and all over the garden birds are bursting into song as soon as the sun shines - which it has done quite frequently despite the erratic weather.

So far most of the poly tunnels are holding out in the wind - except for the one with the oldest cover which is suffering (as you might expect).

Seed planting time is already here, always the best bit when everything seems possible!

Keep warm, and eat lots of our lovely roots and warming veg!

Happy New year 2020

30 January 2020

Thanks to all our customers in 2019.

We are approaching a new year and our first delivery day will be on the 3rd - any web orders in by the morning of the 2nd please.

The first markets of the year are Hexham and Orton, both on the 11th January.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year!

Christmas 2019

27 December 2019

Well -nearly the end of another year - where did that go?

Our last delivery for Alston and Middlesboro areas will be next week the 13th so get your orders in asap for your Christmas veg!

All other areas will have a last delivery on Friday 20th - for weekly orders this will be a double delivery, and for fortnighly customers it will be your christmas delivery whichever week you normally order.

We all get a week off between Christmas and New Year - so the next delivery date will be 3rd January, and for ALston and Middlesboro customers (and any other Week 2 orders) the 10th Jan.

As for markets - it's a quiet start to the year, with no Barnard Castle market until February 1st (cosily indoors in the Witham), Orton and Hexham as usual on the 7th Jan.

WISHING EVERYONE A PEACEFUL AND JOYFUL CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR

Juice - end of season sale!

07 December 2019

AS last year was such a bumper year for apples we still have juice left over as we are starting to press this year's crop.

This year's harvest has been poorer, so there probably won't be juice available all year round.

Take advantage of our OFFER - last year's juice for £2.50 per bottle or 5 for £10 - this juice has a short date, (end of year) but we are still happily drinking it - so take advantage of this chance to stock up!

CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS

14 November 2019

CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS 2019

As usual at Christmas/New Year we will deliver a double order for all our regular customers - this year's delivery falls on Friday 20th December.

There will be no delivery during the week after Christmas - the next delivery day will be Friday 3rd January.

For weekly customers who have the same each week, this will be a double delivery; double quantities of potatoes, onions and carrots, then additional items - for example if you usually have a Small A with 1k potatoes, 500g carrots, 500 onions and 2 other items, at Christmas you will receive 2k potatoes, 1k each of carrots and onions, plus 4 other items.

Fortnightly customers will all get their deliveries on Friday 20th December, whether week one or two.

Customers who alternate types of bags will get both their types of bag together (eg, if you usually order a stir fry bag one week and and a medium the next, you will get both types of bag together on the 20th Dec).

To help you plan ahead we are intending to include sprouts and parsnips with all bags; then red cabbage and cooking apples; with garlic, leeks and mushrooms in larger bags. (all subject to availability)

Please remember you can order extras via the website but in order to ensure these are available for Christmas delivery we will need your orders by 13th December.
